Job summary

The Compleat Food Group is seeking an energetic QA Technician for the Twin Brook site in Clitheroe. You’ll work in our quality team ensuring finished products meet strict customer, legal and safety standards across production.

You will perform compliance checks, sensory testing, CCP and HACCP duties, support corrective actions, and participate in internal audits. The role offers a 6:00–18:00 rotating shift and a salary of £16.24 per hour (£32,512 per year).

Qualifications

  • Level 2 Food Safety & Hygiene is essential
  • HACCP Level 1 or 2 is required
  • ESOL Entry Level 2 or equivalent is desirable
  • Previous experience in a food manufacturing environment
  • QA experience in chilled food is desirable but not essential
  • Good understanding of BRC standards and food safety legislation
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced production environment

Responsibilities

  • Maintain high quality and food safety standards across the factory
  • Carry out compliance checks on finished products, raw materials, packaging and labels
  • Perform pH, packaging, weight and component checks
  • Conduct sensory testing on materials and products
  • Prepare chemical and microbiological analyses per plan
  • Complete allergen, CCP and production compliance checks
  • Support corrective actions following non-conformances
  • Conduct internal audits for BRC, HACCP and legal standards
  • Environmental swabbing, water testing and air plate sampling
  • Temperature monitoring of products and factory areas
  • Calibrate CCP measuring equipment
  • Attend daily, weekly and monthly operational meetings
  • Organise and facilitate product sensory panels

We’re looking for an energetic and detail-driven QA Technician to join our Quality team at our Twin Brook site in Clitheroe. This

is the home to our centre of excellence for pickled and fermented vegetables. You’ll be right at the heart of production, ensuring

our finished products meet exacting customer, legal, and safety standards—every single time.

Job Title: QA Technician - Chilled Food Manufacturing

Location: The Compleat Food Group, Twin Brook Business Park, Twin Brook Road, Clitheroe, BB7 1QX

Working Hours: 06:00 – 18:00, Fortnightly rotating shift pattern - Week 1: Monday, Tuesday, Saturday, Sunday Week 2: Wednesday,

Thursday, Friday

Pay: £16.24 per hour (Annual Salary £32,512)

What you’ll be doing

As a QA Technician, you’ll be accountable for maintaining and driving high standards of quality and food safety across the

factory. Your role will include:

  • Driving high quality product and packaging standards
  • Carrying out compliance checks on finished products, raw materials, packaging, artwork and sleeves
  • Conducting pH, packaging, label, weight and component checks
  • Performing sensory testing on raw materials and finished products
  • Preparing chemical and microbiological analysis in line with scheduled plans
  • Completing allergen, CCP and production compliance checks
  • Supporting and implementing corrective actions following non-conformances
  • Undertaking internal audits to ensure compliance with BRC, HACCP, legal and customer standards
  • Environmental swabbing, water testing and air plate sampling
  • Temperature monitoring of products and factory areas
  • Calibration of all CCP measuring equipment
  • Supervising the end-of-AM shift clean where required
  • Attending Daily, Weekly and Monthly operational meetings
  • Organising and facilitating product sensory panels
What we are looking for:
  • Level 2 Food Safety & Hygiene (essential)
  • Level 1 or 2 HACCP
  • ESOL Entry Level 2 or equivalent (desirable)
  • Previous experience in a food manufacturing environment
  • Experience in a Quality Assurance role (chilled food desirable but not essential)
  • Good understanding of BRC standards and food safety legislation
  • Strong organisational skills with great attention to detail
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced production environment
