Job summary

The Authentic Food Company is seeking a Quality Auditor in Manchester to join the QA team. Reporting to the Quality Manager, you will contribute to the quality control and inspection of meal products, ensuring compliance with food safety standards.

Full training will be provided. You will work Monday to Friday (06:00–14:00), 37.5 hours per week, and will document checks, support hygiene practices, and cooperate with Technical and Operations teams to maintain product quality and accuracy.

Qualifications

• Experience in food manufacturing and quality control
• Strong numerical and analytical skills
• Good communication skills, both written and verbal
• Attention to detail and ability to follow SOPs
• Food hygiene training completed

Responsibilities

• Ensure manufacturing processes are under control for safe food production
• Record checks and controls per the Quality Manual and positive release system
• Maintain site hygiene standards for safe food production
• Attend to tasks to meet department or company standards
• Perform daily, weekly and monthly checks (Product Quality Checks, Metal Detection Checks, Microbiological, Water Analysis, Glass/Perspex Audits, Good Manufacturing Practice Audits) and follow schedules
• Support and collate information concerning any action required by enforcement authorities
• Demonstrate good numerical skills in daily tasks
• Maintain good communication skills, both verbal and written
• Be self-motivated and proactive in addressing issues
• Demonstrate excellent attention to detail in documentation and records
• Leverage previous food manufacturing experience and adhere to food hygiene training

Job description

Hours: 06.00 – 14:00 (37.5 hours / week)

Days: Monday to Friday

Job Purpose: Reporting to the Quality Manager the successful candidate will be part of a team responsible for the quality control/inspection of all meal products. They will work closely with the Technical and Operations teams to drive product quality, consistency and document accuracy. Full training will be given for the role.

Main Responsibilities:

• To ensure that all parts of the manufacturing process are under control as regards to the production of safe food, as required by current food safety legislation, business SOPs, certificated processes and customer requirements.
• To ensure that all checks and controls are recorded correctly as dictated by the Quality Manual as part of the positive release system.
• To ensure that site hygiene standards are maintained at the correct standard for safe food production.
• To attend to any tasks as required by the department, or to meet the standards required by the company.
• To ensure all daily, weekly and monthly checks such as Product Quality Checks, Metal Detection Checks, Microbiological, Water Analysis, Glass/Perspex Audits, Good Manufacturing Practice Audits are conducted to pre-determined schedules.
