Job Description:

Quality Assurance Technologist

Pontefract (home of Butterkist popcorn)

As our QA Technologist, you'll report to the site QA Team Manager. You'll play a key part in delivering technical and quality assurance across the site and support the day-to-day management of the quality function, ensuring food safety, quality, and hygiene standards are achieved. This will be achieved by continually supporting colleagues on site with coaching and guidance in line with up-to-date Customer Codes of Practice and required certification standards to maintain compliance.

Responsibilities include:

  • Ensure Food Safety: Conduct tests and audits to guarantee products meet and exceed food safety standards.
  • Solve Quality Issues: Identify and resolve potential risks to enhance product quality and drive continuous improvement.
  • Maintain Quality Standards: Update and enforce quality assurance protocols to uphold our brand’s product excellence.
  • Analyse Quality Data: Use data analytics to monitor trends, optimize processes, and improve product consistency.
  • Collaborate Across Teams: Work with production, R&D, and supply chain teams to embed quality at every stage of manufacturing.

Requirements:

  • Good understanding of Food Hygiene and HACCP
  • Ability to conduct internal audits
  • Previous experience in food manufacturing in a technical role is preferred
  • Quality Assurance qualifications are advantageous
  • Strong interpersonal skills and confidence to challenge and improve standards positively
