Job description

We are looking for a curious person who is interested in looking at processes and making recommendations that lead to positive change.

The HCPC regulates the members of 15 health and care professions, making sure they have what they need to practise safely. In healthcare regulation, everything we do is for public protection.

The Quality Assurance (QA) team aim to provide forward-looking quality assurance, support wider improvements, and champion high quality performance within HCPC. We work closely as a small team to conduct quality assurance activities such as audits, reviews and advisory work, and make recommendations to support continuous improvement. We also liaise with external stakeholders to keep them informed as to how HCPC is performing.

The Quality Assurance Officer will be supported to:

  • Manage a workload of assigned QA activities, reporting to the appropriate QA Manager / QA Programme Lead overseeing the delivery.

  • Provide effective feedback and make recommendations for change and improvement.

  • Contribute to the ongoing improvement and development of QA processes and practices across the organisation.

  • Identify opportunities for development and continual improvement across the organisation and discuss them with the QA Managers / QA Programme Lead.

  • Produce regular and ad hoc reports, presenting information in the most appropriate format.

  • Work collaboratively with colleagues across the organisation to convey outcomes and recommendations from the Quality Assurance Framework

  • Manage and maintain the QA recommendations log, including by seeking updates on the delivery of agreed actions from relevant colleagues across the organisation.

  • Assist in the preparation of papers for senior management and HCPC’s Council and Committees, as required.

The right candidate will be interested in learning about processes across the organisation and has experience in casework, audit, and/or quality assurance. You will be able to gather and analyse data accurately, and have excellent verbal and written communication skills to clearly inform stakeholders of your findings. You will be able to develop positive relationships with a range of stakeholders internally and externally.

Please note that this role may bring you into contact with or allow you access to information relating to children or vulnerable adults. The HCPC therefore relies, as part of the recruitment process, on self-declaration and on criminal records checks to ensure employees are suitable to take up the position.

Closing Date:Friday 23rd of May 2025 at 1pm. We reserve the right to close this job advert early if we receive a high volume of applications. We encourage you to apply as soon as possible.

Interview Date:Week commencing 09 June 2025 (Interviews will be onsite)

Application information:** Please submit a supporting statement along with your CV. Applications without a supporting statement will not be reviewed. There will also be an assessment along with the interview.
