We're a leading manufacturer of convenience food in the UK, dedicated to making everyday taste better.

We are a vibrant, fast-paced food manufacturer employing around 13,600 colleagues across 16 manufacturing units and 17 distribution depots nationwide. We supply a wide range of food products to all UK food retailers, including sandwiches, soups, sushi, cooking sauces, pickles, and ready meals. In FY23, our revenues reached £1.9bn.

Our extensive direct-to-store (DTS) distribution network, with 17 depots, enables over 10,400 daily deliveries of our chilled and frozen products, including third-party goods.

At Bow, we have a team of about 800 colleagues producing sandwiches, wraps, platters, sub rolls, and salads for major UK retailers such as Sainsbury's, Co-op, Asda, Morrisons, and BP Wild Bean Café.

What you'll be doing

Shift: 4 On - 4 Off nights, 5pm - 5am

As a Quality Manager, your role will be to lead and coordinate the quality assurance teams to ensure service improvement, focusing on safety, quality, legality, and customer requirements.

• Direct the team to implement the quality management system, including internal audits, ensuring compliance with customer, legislative, and company standards.
• Support external audits by providing necessary information and demonstrating operational practices.
• Develop the capability of the Quality Assurance team through strategic initiatives.
• Monitor key performance indicators and adjust activities to meet targets.
• Plan resource utilization and quality assurance tasks effectively.
• Lead projects to improve business efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
• Enhance production capabilities to meet technical standards.
• Ensure a safe working environment and compliance with Health, Safety, and Environment policies.

• Degree level education with a Food specialism or equivalent experience.
• Previous internal audit experience.
• Intermediate Food Hygiene Certificate Level 3 and Level 3 Health and Safety qualifications.
• Experience in a food manufacturing setting.
• Proficiency in Word, Excel, and related IT tools.
• Knowledge of HACCP principles and allergen management.
• Understanding of shelf-life determination and hygiene practices.
• Knowledge of risk assessment and legal labelling requirements.
• Basic understanding of weight legislation and technical KPIs.

Training and development will be provided for these skills if needed.
