Job summary

Stryker is seeking a Co-op Student to join our Belfast site as part of the 2027 Cooperative cohort. This is a role in a regulated medical device company, offering hands-on project work that benefits both the company and your academic learning.

You will work with operations to ensure quality, manage non-conformances and CAPAs, and contribute to process improvements. The role emphasizes teamwork, integrity and proactive problem solving, with mentors and flexible hours.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with operations to ensure quality performance of product and processes.
  • Own or support identified internal and supplier-driven non-conformances and manage timely closure of NCs.
  • Own or support CAPAs and manage timely root cause investigation, implementation and closure.
  • Engage in the development and improvement of internal manufacturing processes for existing products.
  • Participates in the creation and/or review of new or modified procedures.
  • Support the creation and maintenance of inspection methods and sampling.
  • Provide support to the team by completing other activities as required.
  • Ensure compliance with Quality, Safety and 5S Systems.
  • As a student, adapt to workplace by being dependable, punctual, initiative-taking, hardworking, organised and a team-player.

Job description

This role will be based in our Belfast site.

Throughout the placement, you will be an integral part of Stryker’s 2027 Cooperative cohort.

This position provides the Co-Op Student, as part of their college studies, the experience of working in a regulated medical device company. The Co-Op Student undertakes a project that is of mutual benefit to the company and to the student’s practical and academic learning.

Tasks and responsibilities may include:

  • Work closely with operations and the business functions to ensure quality performance of product and processes.

  • Own or support identified internal and supplier driven non-conformances and manage the timely closure of NC's.

  • Own or support identified internal CAPAs and manage to timely root cause investigation, implementation and closure.

  • Engage in the development and improvement of the internal manufacturing processes for existing products.

  • Participates in the creation and/or review of new or modified procedures.

  • Support the creation and maintenance of inspection methods and sampling.

  • Provides support to the team and department by completing other activities as required.

  • Ensures compliance with the Quality, Safety and 5S Systems.

  • As a student, effectively adapts to practically working in a workplace by being dependable, dependable, punctual, initiative-taking, hardworking, organised and a team-player.

What you will need:
  • Currently completing a college qualification in an engineering or business discipline.

  • Honesty and Integrity essential. Must comply with the quality system, regulations, and company policies.
