Job summary

Stryker Belfast is seeking a Biomedical/Mechanical/Electrical Engineering co-op to join the Operations Engineering team. You will collaborate with Test and Manufacturing Engineers and other stakeholders to support business objectives and process improvements.

Responsibilities include developing documentation, contributing to GMP-compliant SOPs, and assisting in NPIs while gaining valuable hands-on experience in a fast-growing healthcare environment.

Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Biomedical/Mechanical/Electrical Engineering.
  • Proficient in Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent presentation and written/verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills; able to manage priorities and workflow.
  • Versatility, flexibility, and willingness to work within changing priorities.

Job description

This role will be based in our Belfast site.

Throughout the placement, you will be an integral part of Stryker’s 2027 Cooperative cohort.

As an Engineering co-op in Stryker Belfast Operation Engineering team you will have the opportunity to work closely with Test Engineers and Manufacturing Engineers as well as other stakeholders.

Tasks and responsibilities may include:
  • Work with Engineering leaders to deliver business objectives.
  • Application of engineering principles focused on quality, service and cost.
  • Gain technical insights on all product and process and experience within a fast paced and growing industry.
  • Development and implementation of appropriate supporting documentation, SOPs and process work instructions compliant with current Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
  • Assist in New Product Introduction (NIP) Process in implementing new products and/or processes.
  • Support process validation for products and processes; VP, IQ, OQ, PQ and associated documentation.
  • Identify process improvement opportunities, design and implement project plan, monitor and optimize results.
  • Communicate and participate in system and process troubleshooting with support team members and with external agents.
  • Involve in digital plant implementation and drive for continuous improvement.
  • Observing the Quality Management Systems and Environment Health and Safety requirements on site at all times.
What you will need:
  • Currently working on completion of Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical/Mechanical/Electrical Engineering.
  • Proficient in Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
