Can you support a nursing team to perform at its best and turn quality checks into practical improvements? At Affinity Care, you'll combine people management with quality assurance across eight GP practice sites, helping staff deliver consistent, high quality patient care. Reporting to our Operations Manager, you'll bring together staff management, audit and compliance, helping teams work effectively and ensuring that improvements are followed through. This is a nonclinical management role, and nursing registration is not required. Clinical leadership and decisions about nursing practice remain with the Lead Nurse and clinical partners. Premises management and budget management sit with other managers and are outside this role's remit.
You'll work closely with the Operations Manager, Lead Nurse, Planned Care Manager, Patient Services Managers and HR. You'll oversee a workforce of around 40 registered nurses, nursing associates and healthcare assistants, with both direct and indirect staff management responsibilities. Your work will help staff understand what is expected, keep training and workforce records current, and turn audit findings into practical improvements.
Experience in general practice or wider primary care is desirable. We also welcome relevant experience from other health or care providers where you can demonstrate both people management and quality assurance responsibilities. A management qualification, quality improvement training, CQC assessment experience or familiarity with SystmOne, Practice Index or audit software would be advantageous.
You work in person across Shipley Medical Practice, Westcliffe Medical Centre, Haigh Hall Medical Centre, Willows Medical Centre, Thornton Medical Practice, Denholme Medical Centre, Sunnybank Medical Centre and Cowgill Medical Practice. You must be able to drive and have access to your own transport. Travel expenses will be paid. Occasional flexibility in working hours is required to meet service needs. Evidence of the vaccinations required for the role must also be provided.
