Job summary

Murphy is recruiting a Quality Advisor to work with Energy - Steel Work and Coatings, based at Murphy sites across the UK. You will champion the Quality – Right First Time initiative, promote best practice, and advise site teams on duties and responsibilities within Quality Plans.

Responsibilities include inspections, auditing, reviewing ITPs, reporting nonconformances, and developing quality campaigns. ISO 9001:2015 and BS EN 1090 knowledge, plus CQI/MCQI credentials, are advantageous.

Qualifications

  • Experience in quality control roles, ideally in steel and coatings.
  • Familiar with ISO 9001:2015 and quality auditing.
  • Lead or internal auditor qualifications advantageous.
  • CQI membership or Chartered QC credentials beneficial.
  • Proficient with MS Office applications (Outlook/Excel/Word).
  • Engineering or Construction sector experience.
  • Knowledge of BS EN 1090 requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Champion the Quality – Right First Time initiative.
  • Promote best practice in quality with the Quality function.
  • Advise site teams on duties and responsibilities per Quality Plans.
  • Support site management to meet Quality Plans requirements.
  • Carry out inspections/audits to ensure compliance with policy.
  • Review internal and supply chain ITPs.
  • Report nonconformances and manage corrective actions.
  • Collate quality statistics for reporting by QA function.
  • Identify trends and opportunities for improvement in Quality.
  • Develop and implement Quality campaigns with QA Management.
  • Support project teams in developing Quality Plans.
  • Produce Quality plans, procedures and related documentation.

A day in the life of a Murphy Quality Advisor
  • - Be a champion for the “Quality – Right First Time” initiative.
  • - Establish and promote best practice in quality matters in conjunction with the Quality function.
  • - Ensure that all personnel are aware of their statutory duties and responsibilities, and to provide advice as and when required.
  • - Support site management teams to ensure compliance with all requirements stipulated in the Quality Plans.
  • - Carry out regular inspections/audits of sites and work places to find whether work is being carried out in accordance with Company Policy, Procedures and other stated requirements.
  • - Review of internal and supply chain partner Inspection and Test Plans
  • - Promote the reporting of nonconformances and manage, provide advice on closing out actions.
  • - Collate and review Business / Contract Quality statistics in a timely manner and submit to the Quality Management and Quality function for reporting purposes.
  • - Review Quality statistics to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • - Develop and implement Quality campaigns and improvement plans in agreement with the Quality Management.
  • - Provide support to Project teams in the development of Quality Plans.
  • - Produce Quality plans, procedures and associated documentation and check compliance.

  • - Experience within a Quality control role, ideally in steel and coatings
  • - Icorr or Mace would be adventageous
  • - Relevant Quality Membership (CQI) would be beneficial along with ISO9001:2015 Lead Auditor or Internal Auditor qualification
  • - MS package knowledge (e.g. Outlook, Excel, Word, Visio, MS Project)
  • - Solid understanding of the requirements of the ISO 9001 standard and the BS EN 1090
  • - Chartered Quality Professional – Member (CQP MCQI) advantageous
  • - Previous experience within an Engineering or Construction environment
