Qualified Social Worker - Fostering Team

Location: South Wales

Pay rate: £38 per hour

Job Description

We are seeking experienced and passionate Qualified Social Workers to join our Fostering Team in South Wales. You will work in a busy, supportive environment, recruiting, assessing, preparing, and training prospective carers and adopters to meet children's needs, in accordance with legal requirements and guidance.

Your responsibilities will include conducting assessments of prospective carers through individual visits, training, report writing, and presenting cases to panels. You will support carers and adopters, review family placements, and facilitate contact between children and their birth families. Working within social care legislation and local government standards, you will deliver person-centered, safe, and effective social care services, making informed assessments and decisions about interventions.

Using your professional knowledge and communication skills, you will establish and maintain relationships with service users and agencies to ensure needs are met. Your goal will be to achieve positive, sustainable outcomes for children, supporting their growth and well-being, with a focus on protection and efficiency.

Candidate Requirements
  • Qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England
  • Experience working with children and vulnerable families
  • Creative, flexible, and forward-thinking approach
  • Knowledge of Child Protection legislation and issues
  • Commitment to continuous improvement and high-quality service
  • Excellent mediation and negotiation skills
  • Ability to build meaningful relationships with children and families
  • Experience working in multi-disciplinary, interagency teams
  • At least 4 years of qualified experience
