Qualified Social Worker - Children's Assessment

Location: North East

Pay rate: £32 per hour

Job Overview

We are seeking experienced and passionate Qualified Social Workers to join our dedicated Assessment Team. In this role, you'll work within a busy and supportive team for a local authority in the North East, assessing and working with children and families to intervene early and provide support. You will be responsible for making assessments and decisions about appropriate interventions, supporting the delivery of safe, effective, and person-centered social care services, and establishing relationships with service users and agencies to meet their needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments of risks, protection, and social care needs.
• Manage an agreed caseload efficiently.
• Develop individual care plans that respect diversity and promote dignity and empowerment.
• Offer advice and support to unqualified staff and students for their development.

Candidate Requirements

• Qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England.
• Minimum of 4 years' experience working with children and families, including vulnerable groups.
• Knowledge of Child Protection legislation and issues.
• Creative, flexible, and forward-thinking approach.
• Excellent mediation and negotiation skills.
• Ability to build meaningful relationships with children and families.
• Experience working in a multi-disciplinary, interagency setting.
