Qualified Social Worker - Child Protection

Location: North East

Pay rate: £35 per hour

We are seeking experienced and passionate Qualified Social Workers to join a dedicated Child Protection Team. As part of the Child Protection Team for a local authority in the North East, you will work in a busy and supportive environment, assessing and working with children and families, intervening where children need support to ensure early help. You will operate in accordance with social care legislation and local government requirements, guided by the values and principles of social care. Your role will involve delivering person-centred, safe, and effective social care services, making assessments and decisions on appropriate interventions based on your professional knowledge and experience. Using your excellent communication skills, you will establish and maintain relationships with service users and other agencies to meet identified needs.

Ideal Candidate:

• Qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England.
• Experienced in working with children and families, including vulnerable groups.

• Excellent mediation and negotiation skills.
• Skilled at building meaningful relationships with children and families.

• Experience working in multi-disciplinary, interagency settings.
• 4+ years qualified experience.

Role Responsibilities:

• Conduct comprehensive assessments of risks, protection, and social care needs.
• Manage an agreed caseload.

• Support and advise unqualified staff and students for development.
