Job Title: Qualified SEN Teacher
Location: Pupil Referral Unit, Hackney
Start Date: September 2025
Contract: Full-Time, London
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience

We are looking for an experienced and passionate Qualified SEN Teacher to join our dedicated team at a Pupil Referral Unit (PRU). This is an exciting opportunity to work with children and young people who may have experienced barriers to learning, and make a real difference to their educational journey.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver high-quality, tailored teaching to students with special educational needs.

• Provide individual and group support to students with a variety of learning, social, and emotional needs.

• Plan and implement engaging lessons in line with the school’s curriculum.

• Manage classroom behaviour effectively, creating a safe and supportive learning environment.

• Develop individual education plans (IEPs) and monitor student progress.

• Work closely with other professionals, including SENCOs, support staff, and external agencies.

• Provide regular feedback to students and parents on progress.

About You:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential.

• Significant experience working with students with special educational needs, particularly within a PRU or similar setting.

• Strong understanding of SEND, behaviour management strategies, and the challenges faced by students in alternative provisions.

• Ability to adapt teaching methods to suit the diverse needs of students.

• Compassionate, patient, and able to build strong, positive relationships with students.

• Excellent communication skills and ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
