Job summary

Cygnet Newton House is seeking an experienced Psychologist to join our team in Lancashire, delivering high-quality mental health care for adults. You will conduct psychological assessments and provide individual and group therapies within a multidisciplinary setting.

You will consult with staff and families, contribute psychological expertise to decision-making on risk, and support service development through clinical research and service evaluation.

Qualifications

  • An experienced Psychologist, ideally with an adult mental health client group.
  • Experienced in working as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Knowledgeable of mental health legislation, risk assessment & risk management principles.
  • Preferably trained in complex therapies such as Schema focused, Cognitive Analytical & DBT.
  • Passionate about working with people with a range of complex mental health needs.
  • Capable of treating difficulties such as self-harm, physical & verbal aggression, history of sexual offending & drug & alcohol problems.
  • An excellent communicator.

Responsibilities

  • Consult with staff, families & other agencies about the psychological care of the client group.
  • Offer psychological insight & knowledge to the multidisciplinary team.

  • Evaluate the service, contribute to its development & carry out clinical research.

Cygnet Newton House

Cygnet Newton House offers both a high support inpatient rehabilitation (level 2) service and community rehabilitation (level 1) service for men. The service is dedicated to providing a high quality environment for promoting long-term recovery.

Your day-to-day…
