Cygnet Hospital Kidsgrove in Staffordshire is seeking an outstanding HCPC registered Clinical or Forensic Psychologist for a part-time 24-hour-per-week role across three days. The post involves assessments, therapy, and MDT work to support women with complex mental health needs.

The role offers training, supervision, research opportunities and a salary up to £57,750 per year pro-rated. Benefits include pension, cycle to work, and employee discounts.

Qualifications

• HCPC registered Clinical or Forensic Psychologist with experience in clinical forensic or mental health settings.
• Newly qualified applicants welcome to apply; eligibility within 6 months.
• Preferably trained in Schema-focused therapy, CAT and DBT.
• Ability to treat self-harm, aggression and substance use in complex cases.

Responsibilities

• Work as a team Psychologist within a multidisciplinary team (MDT).
• Carry out psychological assessments and provide therapy to individuals and groups.
• Collaboratively develop care plans with the MDT.
• Provide training and supervision to colleagues and consultation to teams.
• Evaluate the service, contribute to development and carry out clinical research.
• Disseminate outcomes via conference presentations and publications.

Cygnet Hospital Kidsgrove

Cygnet Hospital Kidsgrove is our hospital for women in Staffordshire. There are two wards at the hospital; a 20 bed Acute service for women and an 11 bed Highly Specialised Personality Disorder Rehabilitation service.

Crocus Ward provides a safe and stabilising environment for women who are experiencing an acute episode of mental illness and require an emergency admission. Burleigh Ward provides specialised support for women with a personality disorder and other complex needs.

Job Summary

To support and enhance the professional psychological care of clients within this service; providing psychological assessment and interventions under the supervision of a qualified psychologist, working independently according to a plan agreed your supervisor. To conduct audits, collection of statistics, and development of audit and research projects, teaching and project work.

Your Day-to-Day…

We Are Looking For Someone Who Is…

• A HCPC registered Clinical or Forensic Psychologist with experience in a clinical forensic or mental health setting
• Newly qualified and applicants due to qualify within 6 months are welcome to apply
• Preferably trained in complex therapies such as Schema focused, Cognitive Analytical and DBT
• Passionate about working with people with a range of complex mental health needs
• Capable of treating difficulties such as self-harm, physical & verbal aggression, history of sexual offending and drug & alcohol problems.
