Nursery Practitioner - Selly Oak

Aspire People is delighted to be working with a range of reputable nurseries and early years settings across Selly Oak that are seeking enthusiastic and dedicated Level 2 and Level 3 Nursery Practitioners to join their teams.

We are recruiting for opportunities within both term-time-only settings and private day nurseries, offering flexible working options to suit your availability and career goals. Whether you are looking for full-time, part-time, or flexible weekly work, we have opportunities available.

The Role

As a Nursery Practitioner, you will play an important role in providing high-quality care, education, and support to children aged 0-5 years. You will work as part of a dedicated team to create a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment where children can learn, develop, and reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the learning, development, and wellbeing of children aged 0-5 in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework.
  • Create a safe, welcoming, stimulating, and nurturing environment where children feel secure and encouraged to learn.
  • Plan and participate in engaging, age-appropriate activities that promote children's social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development.
  • Recognise and support children's individual needs, interests, abilities, and stages of development.
  • Encourage children to develop their confidence, independence, communication, and social skills.
  • Assist with planning and implementing activities that support children's learning and development.
  • Build positive and professional relationships with children, colleagues, parents, and carers.
  • Maintain high standards of safeguarding, health, safety, and wellbeing.
  • Contribute to observations, assessments, and children's individual learning journeys where required.
What We Are Looking For
  • Level 2 or Level 3 Early Years/Childcare qualification (essential).
  • Valid Paediatric First Aid qualification, or willingness to complete (essential).
  • Previous experience working in a nursery or early years setting.
  • A good understanding of the EYFS framework.
  • A genuine passion for working with young children and supporting their development.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A caring, patient, and positive approach.
  • The ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • A flexible and proactive approach to working hours and responsibilities.
  • A strong commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
