Partou Bluebells Day Nursery & Pre-school in Preston, Lancashire is seeking a Level 2/3 Early Years qualified nursery practitioner for a flexible 15 hours per week Lunchtime Cover Assistant role. You will help children engage in stimulating activities under EYFS, ensuring safety and inclusivity while supporting colleagues and families.

This position suits someone who thrives in a busy nursery and enjoys a supportive, hands-on role.

Qualifications

• Minimum Level 2 Early Years qualification and EYFS knowledge.
• Experience or strong understanding of working with nursery children.
• Commitment to safeguarding and development of children.
• Ability to support learning during lunchtime cover shifts.

Responsibilities

• Provide Lunchtime Cover Assistant duties for 15 hours weekly.
• Support children's learning and development in line with EYFS.
• Maintain a safe, inclusive environment and engage with families.
• Assist nursery team and cover staff lunch breaks as required.

Salary £12.76 per hour

About The Role

Partou Bluebells Day Nursery & Pre-school is seeking a Level 2 or Level 3 Early Years qualified nursery practitioner to take on the flexible 15hours per week role of Lunchtime Cover Assistant. You will work towards ensuring children engage in stimulating activities that support their learning and development in line with the EYFS. You will provide exceptional care and compassion towards the children, maintain a safe and inclusive environment, and build strong partnerships with childcare colleagues and families. You'll play a key role in supporting our nursery team, stepping in to provide cover while our staff enjoy their well-deserved lunch break. This position is perfect for someone who enjoys the bustling energy of a nursery setting and thrives in a supportive role.
