Job summary

Milk Education is recruiting qualified Early Years Teaching Assistants to join welcoming primary schools and early years settings across Durham. If you hold Level 2 or Level 3 Early Years / Childcare qualifications and have Nursery, Reception or EYFS experience, you’ll support children aged 0-5, assist with play-based learning and help develop phonics, literacy and numeracy.

Qualifications

• Level 2 or Level 3 Early Years / Childcare qualification
• Nursery, Reception or EYFS experience
• Strong knowledge of the EYFS framework
• Experience supporting children aged 0-5
• Understanding of child development and play-based learning
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
• A patient, nurturing and proactive approach

Responsibilities

• Supporting children across the EYFS
• Creating engaging play-based learning activities
• Supporting early phonics, literacy and numeracy
• Developing children's communication and language skills
• Supporting personal, social and emotional development
• Completing observations and contributing to children's learning journeys
• Encouraging independence and confidence
• Working closely with teachers, EYFS practitioners and parents/carers
• Creating a safe, nurturing and stimulating learning environment
