Job summary

Milk Education is recruiting enthusiastic Primary School Teaching Assistants to support pupils across EYFS, KS1 and KS2 in Sunderland and South Tyneside on a part-time or full-time basis throughout the academic year.

You will work in welcoming primary schools, supporting lessons, small groups and 1:1 work, and help children with learning needs to build confidence, independence and a positive attitude to learning. Level 2 or Level 3 Childcare qualifications are preferred.

Qualifications

• Level 2 or Level 3 Childcare qualification or Teaching Assistant qualification.
• Experience working with children in nursery, childcare or primary school settings.
• A genuine passion for supporting children's education and development.
• Availability for at least 1–2 days per week (flexible).

Responsibilities

• Support the class teacher with lessons and classroom activities.
• Work with small groups or on a 1:1 basis with pupils.
• Support children with additional learning needs where required.
• Assist with classroom routines and behaviour management.
• Encourage pupil engagement, confidence and independence.
• Support children's social, emotional and educational development.
• Help create a safe, positive and inclusive learning environment.
