Job summary

Blue Arrow is seeking a Qualified Accountant to join our Swansea/Cardigan team on-site. You will handle year-end accounts, VAT, self-assessment and corporate tax returns, using IRIS or similar software, with a focus on accuracy and client service.

With a minimum of 3 years' practice experience and ACA/ACCA/CTA qualification (or equivalent), you will support and coach junior staff, manage workloads, and contribute to ongoing professional development within a supportive, collaborative firm.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years' experience in an accountancy practice or similar environment.
• Good technical knowledge of accounts preparation, VAT and taxation.
• Experience using accounting software such as IRIS, Sage, KashFlow, QuickBooks or Xero.

• Prepare year-end accounts for sole traders, partnerships, LLPs and limited companies.
• Maintain understanding of VAT and monthly/quarterly procedures for owner-managed businesses.
• Complete self-assessment and corporation tax returns using IRIS or similar software.
• Work with accounting software including Sage 50, KashFlow, QuickBooks and Xero.
• Support clients in adopting digital accounting technology and accessing real-time management information.

Role Overview

Key Responsibilities

Accounts Preparation & Taxation

• Prepare year-end accounts for sole traders, partnerships, LLPs and limited companies using IRIS or similar software
• Maintain a good understanding of VAT and monthly and quarterly accounting procedures for owner-managed businesses
• Complete self-assessment and corporation tax returns using IRIS or similar software
• Work with accounting software including Sage 50, KashFlow, QuickBooks and Xero.
• Support clients in adopting digital accounting technology and accessing real-time management information to support informed business decisions.
• Undertake other reasonable duties as required within the practice.

Skills & Experience

• Minimum of 3 years' experience in an accountancy practice or similar environment (Essential)
• Good technical knowledge of accounts preparation, VAT and taxation
• Experience using accounting software such as IRIS, Sage, KashFlow, QuickBooks or Xero (Essential)
• Excellent communication skills and a client focused approach
• High levels of accuracy and attention to detail
• Confidence managing your own workload and priorities
• Ability to support and coach less experienced team members
• A proactive, enthusiastic and team-oriented approach

Qualifications

• Qualified ACA, ACCA or CTA
• AAT Qualified or qualified by experience candidates will also be considered
