Prospero Teaching is recruiting a QTS Tutor to deliver Maths and English tuition to KS2-4 students in Northumberland across multiple areas.

The role involves creating, planning and delivering 1:1 tailored lessons, focused on re-engagement and rebuilding routine for pupils who have been out of education. You will monitor progression and support effective learning with flexible hours, including part-time or full-time opportunities.

QTS Tutor

Prospero Teaching is looking for a QTS Tutor across Northumberland holding to deliver Maths and English tuition to KS2-4 students who are currently disengaged from mainstream education.

As a QTS Tutor, you must be able to create, plan and deliver 1:1 tailored lessons to bridge gaps in pupil's education, whilst focusing on engaging them, helping them reintegrate into school. This opportunity is great for an experienced teacher who is looking to step away from the classroom to offer more personalised, enjoyable lessons.

Most of these pupils will have been out of education for some time, so their confidence levels may be very low. It is your responsibility to reengage them in their learning and offer structure back into their daily routine.

Prospero Teaching will work with you closely to monitor the progression with each pupil and support effective learning.

POSITION DETAILS

• Location - Northumberland (Various areas)
• Position - QTS Tutor
• Start date - September 2026
• Duration / Likely Duration - Until the student finds a suitable school placement
• End date (if applicable) - Ongoing
• Contract type - Temporary
• Full time/part time - Part time and full time depending on your availability
• Rate of pay - up to £30 per hour
• Hours - Working hours can differentiate, up to 15 hours per week, per student

TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST:

• Hold Right to Work in the UK
• Hold a valid UK driving license and your own mode of transport.
• Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
• Provide two professional child related references that cover the last two years
