Job summary

Prospero Teaching is seeking a QTS Tutor to deliver bespoke 1:1 education to young people not attending school in Wickford and surrounding areas. You will create, plan and deliver tailored lessons to bridge gaps and boost engagement, re-engaging pupils with structured daily routines.

Ideal candidates have QTS or equivalent and some UK school or tutoring experience; safeguarding training is desirable. Roles can be part time or full time depending on availability, with a minimum pay rate of £25

Qualifications

• QTS/QTLS/PGCE/EYFS or equivalent is required or recognised.
• 6 months+ experience in a UK school or tutoring role.
• Up-to-date safeguarding training issued in the last 12 months is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Deliver bespoke 1:1 lessons to bridge gaps and boost engagement and attainment.
• Re-engage pupils who have been out of education and provide structure to daily routines.
• Monitor progression with each pupil and support effective learning.

QTS Tutor - Wickford

Prospero Teaching is looking for a QTS Tutor to deliver bespoke education packages on a 1:1 basis to young people that are not attending school.

As a QTS Tutor, you must be able to create, plan and deliver 1:1 tailored lesson to bridge gaps in pupil's education and boost engagement and attainment levels. This opportunity is great for an experienced teacher who is looking to step away from the classroom to offer more personalised, enjoyable lessons.

Most of these pupils will have been out of education for some time, so their confidence levels may be very low. It is your responsibility to reengage them in their learning and offer structure back into their daily routine.

Prospero Teaching will work with you closely to monitor the progression with each pupil and support effective learning.

Contract/Position Details

• Location - Wickford and surrounding areas
• Position - QTS Tutor
• Start date - ASAP
• End date (if applicable) - Ongoing
• Full time/part time - Part time and full time depending on availability
• Minimum rate of pay - Minimum rate £25 per hour

Experience, Training and Qualifications

• QTS, QTLS, PGCE, EYFS or equivalent
• 6 months+ experience working in a UK school or tutoring experience
• Up to date Safeguarding training issued in the last year (desirable however not essential)

TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST:

• Hold Right to Work in the UK
• Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
• Provide two professional child related references that cover the last two years
