TeacherActive seeks experienced English teachers to join its South Wiltshire secondary supply team, covering Salisbury and the wider South Wiltshire area. Roles range from day-to-day bookings to short-term and longer-term placements in the Salisbury region.

You will deliver engaging English lessons, manage diverse classes, and adapt quickly to different schools and schemes of work while benefiting from a dedicated consultant and flexible working patterns.

Qualifications

• QTS with an English Language / Literature specialism.
• Experience teaching English to KS3 and KS4.
• Strong behaviour management and classroom presence.
• Ability to adapt quickly to different schools, pupils and schemes of work.
• A professional, dependable approach to short-notice and pre-booked supply.

Responsabilités

• Deliver engaging English lessons and manage classes across multiple schools.
• Prepare in advance and set high expectations to sustain learning.
• Provide continuity of learning between bookings.

English Teacher South Wiltshire Supply Team

Location: Salisbury & South Wiltshire

Start Date: September 2026 / ongoing

Contract Type: Day-to-Day Supply / Short-Term / Long-Term

Pay: £150 - £270 per day

TeacherActive is looking for experienced English Teachers to join my growing South Wiltshire secondary supply team.

I am recruiting specifically for the Salisbury and deeper South Wiltshire area, including Amesbury, Durrington, Tidworth, Wilton, Downton, the Stonehenge corridor and surrounding schools.

I want to hear from confident English specialists who enjoy teaching but would value more control over when and where they work. Opportunities range from individual day-to-day bookings through to short-term and longer-term placements, allowing you to build a working pattern that suits you.

The strongest supply teachers do far more than simply supervise a class. They arrive prepared, establish expectations quickly, engage pupils with the work that has been set and leave the school knowing that learning has continued.
