Job summary

Nomad Digital in Newcastle is seeking a QA Test Manager to lead the delivery of on‑train product streams and reporting solutions, and to manage a small QA team.

The role is based at the Newcastle Head Office with a hybrid working arrangement. You will drive AI‑augmented testing strategies, oversee CI/CD integration, and work with distributed teams to ensure quality across multiple streams.

Qualifications

• Degree preferable, or significant experience in a technical discipline.
• ISTQB accreditation.
• ISTQB Advanced Test Manager certification or equivalent desirable.
• Solid understanding of network principles – IP subnetting, Routing protocols, Layer 2 protocols & traffic flows.
• Good level of Linux literacy desirable.
• Electronics and electrical safety background desirable.
• Familiarity with AI‑assisted testing platforms and tools.
• Understanding AI/ML and large language models in software testing.

Responsibilities

• Lead QA Test Team in Embedded System Integration, Functional and Non‑functional tests.
• Define and drive the QA team’s AI‑augmented testing strategy.
• Champion AI‑assisted test case generation and self‑healing automation.
• Evaluate AI/ML‑based tools for defect prediction and risk‑based test prioritisation.
• Oversee integration of AI‑driven checks into the CI/CD pipeline.
• Establish governance for AI‑generated test artefacts to ensure accuracy.
• Drive the test automation strategy and Agile testing approach.
• Plan test strategy with Test Lead and SMEs; produce test documentation.
• People management of QA team, coaching and mentoring.
• Provide weekly KPI reporting to key stakeholders.
