Job summary

Aberdeen Adviser, Edinburgh, seeks a Quality Engineer to shape testing practices across agile squads. You will define testing strategy, guide quality standards and support teams with automated and exploratory testing for web and mobile apps, balancing hands‑on work with coaching to improve coverage and reliability.

You will advance AI‑driven testing approaches while continuing your own career development in a collaborative, inclusive environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in manual and automated cross‑platform testing.
• Experience testing mobile apps on iOS and/or Android.
• Knowledge of Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, Jest, JUnit or Postman.
• Experience defining testing strategies within agile, cross‑functional teams.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure) and CI/CD pipelines.
• Ability to coach engineers to improve quality practices and standards.
• Desirable criteria: exposure to Maestro mobile automation; BrowserStack; JavaScript/TypeScript; AI‑driven testing approaches.

Responsibilities

• Define test strategies and coverage across unit to end‑to‑end layers.
• Collaborate with engineers, designers and product managers to build quality in early.
• Design automated and exploratory tests for web and mobile apps (iOS/Android).
• Mentor teams on testing best practices, CI/CD, automation and shift‑left QA.
• Improve testing frameworks, tooling, performance, accessibility and resilience.
• Leverage AI‑driven testing to boost coverage and efficiency.
