Qualifications

Job description

Hain Daniels is currently recruiting for a QA Technician at our Grimsby site. In Grimsby, we manufacture fresh soups for our New Covent Garden brand and for private label.

Key Responsibilities / Accountability of the Role:
  1. HACCP compliance auditing and measurement of critical control points. Investigation and root cause analysis of non-conforming results.
  2. Calibration of weighing and temperature measurement equipment. Troubleshoot and investigate deviations from specified targets.
  3. Verification of cleaning through the Hygiene Management System, including swabbing, titration, and rinse water testing.
  4. Sample collection for external analysis, microbiological, chemical, and others as required. Investigation and root cause analysis of non-conforming results.
  5. Carry out hygiene audits according to schedule. Discuss results with other departments and arrange corrective actions. Conduct glass, foreign bodies, and fabrication audits, and communicate action points with relevant departments. Report to and work with the Shift Manager or Hygiene Supervisor on hygiene and housekeeping issues.
  6. Customer complaint investigations - root cause analysis to reduce complaints and implement preventative actions.
  7. Maintenance and update of site quality management system documentation.
  8. Raising non-conformance investigation reports with key information for departments to conduct root cause analysis.
  9. Foreign body reports and investigations. Lead investigations, determine root cause, and implement corrective and preventative actions where needed.
  10. Complete hygiene validations as scheduled.
  11. Support project work as required by the Quality or Technical Manager, and report findings to relevant personnel.
  12. Assess work in progress and finished products against relevant specifications, conducting physical, chemical, and organoleptic assessments as appropriate. Investigate and analyze non-conforming results.
  13. Support raw material assessments and liaise with suppliers as applicable.
  14. Calibrate and troubleshoot metal detection equipment.
  15. Provide technical support and coaching to the operations team to promote site standards and food safety culture.
What you will need for the Role:
  1. Level 3 food safety and HACCP training preferred.
  2. At least 2 years of quality auditing experience within food.
  3. Ability to work independently and manage scheduled tasks.
  4. Self-motivated with the ability to identify improvement areas and act on them.
  5. Understanding of Food Safety and HACCP principles.
  6. Attention to detail is essential.
  7. Availability for production scheduling and holiday cover, including weekend work during peak periods.
