Job summary

Hireful is seeking an experienced QA Manager in food manufacturing to own the QA team, drive food safety and quality improvements, and help achieve Grade AA BRCGS status. You will lead audits, manage non-conformances and corrective actions, and work with production to embed a strong quality culture.

Reporting to the Site Head of Technical, you’ll develop the QA team and drive continuous improvement in a fast-paced food production environment in Middlesbrough.

Location: Middlesbrough

Hours: Monday–Thursday, 8:30am–5:00pm; Friday, 8:30am–4:00pm

The Role

Reporting to the Site Head of Technical, you’ll lead and develop the QA team, ensuring products and processes consistently meet food safety, legal, customer and quality standards.

You’ll coordinate audits, maintain audit readiness and support the achievement of Grade AA BRCGS status. You’ll manage non-conformances, customer complaints and corrective actions, drive improvements in good manufacturing practice (GMP), and work closely with production, technical and development teams to embed a strong quality culture.

About You

You’ll have proven technical experience in food manufacturing, ideally chilled food, previous team leadership experience and exposure to UK retailers.

Level 3 Food Safety and Hygiene, Level 3 HACCP, and hygiene and chemical awareness training are essential. You’ll also bring strong communication, organisational and problem-solving skills, alongside good Microsoft Excel and Word knowledge.
