Job summary

MorePeople is seeking a proactive Quality Assurance leader to drive the QA function in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment in the United Kingdom. You will lead and develop the QA team, champion food safety, and work with multiple departments to embed continuous improvement across the site.

Key responsibilities include hosting audits, managing CCPs and internal quality systems, and delivering data‑driven KPI reports to support corrective actions and ongoing performance.

Qualifications

• Experience in a QA, Quality or Technical Management role within food manufacturing.
• Solid understanding of HACCP, food safety legislation and quality management systems.
• Experience preparing for and hosting customer and third-party audits.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to coach and develop a successful team.
• Excellent organisation and attention to detail.
• Confidence communicating with customers, auditors and colleagues across all areas of the business.
• A proactive mindset and a passion for continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the QA Team Leaders, ensuring quality from intake through despatch.
• Manage site quality assurance activities and champion food safety across the factory.
• Support the Technical Manager and cover when needed.
• Act as Deputy HACCP Team Leader and drive a strong food safety culture.
• Monitor CCPs, perform verification checks and maintain staff competence.
• Manage internal audits and keep the site customer and audit ready.
• Host customer, retailer and third‑party audits with confidence.
• Investigate complaints, identify root causes and drive corrective actions.
• Produce technical KPI reports and use data to support continuous improvement.

What You’ll Be Doing

Your day-to-day will include:

• Leading and developing the QA Team Leaders, ensuring quality is maintained from intake through to despatch.
• Managing site quality assurance activities and championing food safety throughout the factory.
• Supporting the Technical Manager and stepping in when needed.
• Acting as Deputy HACCP Team Leader and helping drive a strong food safety culture.
• Monitoring CCPs, completing verification checks and ensuring teams remain fully competent.
• Managing internal audits and keeping the site customer and audit ready all year round.
• Hosting customer, retailer and third-party audits with confidence.
• Investigating complaints, identifying root causes and driving meaningful corrective actions.
• Producing technical KPI reports and using data to support continuous improvement.
