Job summary

Greene King is seeking a Purchasing Planner on a 12-month FTC/Secondment basis. The role supports Brand teams, Operations and GNFR, driving cost savings and supplier management for pubs nationwide.

You will work with Supply Chain to onboard new products, maintain supplier panels, and handle queries while promoting sustainability. The position offers exposure to a fast-paced hospitality group with strong apprenticeship and development opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Support Brand teams and Operations on key event opportunities, drive cost savings and manage cash spend.
• Assist GNFR product rationalisation, liaising with stakeholders and suppliers to ensure smooth transitions.
• Support Purchasing Managers with sourcing, supplier reviews, negotiations and continuous improvement.
• Manage suppliers to meet key performance levels.
• Set up new products with Supply Chain for pubs, ensuring accurate product and supplier information.
• Maintain approved supplier and buying panels across GNFR categories with accuracy and compliance.
• Handle pub queries with timely, professional support.
• Collaborate with Risk to minimise environmental impacts and promote sustainability.

As a Purchasing Planner you will…

• Support Brand teams and Operations on key event opportunities and work with suppliers to drive innovation, whilst ensuring cost savings and mitigating cash spend
• Support with GNFR product Rationalisation, liaising with relevant stakeholders and suppliers to ensure smooth transition.
• Support the Purchasing Managers with product sourcing, supplier reviews, negotiations, and continuous improvement initiatives
• Manage suppliers to ensure all key performance levels are achieved
• Work with Supply Chain to set up all new products required to support Pubs, ensuring accurate product and supplier information is in place prior to launch.
• Maintain approved supplier and buying panels across all GNFR categories, ensuring information remains accurate, compliant, and aligned to business requirements.
• Manage all pub queries coming into the team, providing timely, professional, and accurate support.
• Work closely with Risk team to minimise environmental impacts where relevant
• Promote innovation and sustainability within the supplier base
