Purchasing Coordinator (Buyer / Assistant / Specialist)

Location: Stoke-on-Trent

Salary and Benefits: £35,000 DOE + 1-2 Days Hybrid (once fully trained) + 24 Days Holiday + Bank Holidays + Auto Enrolment Pension + Annual Bonus + Parking + Discounted Medical Cover + Training Opportunities

Working Hours: 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm (Flexibility on hours can be discussed).

Purchasing Coordinator required for a highly successful international manufacturer. The role will suit those seeking a varied role in an employee-focused business.

The successful Purchasing Coordinator will need experience in buying/purchasing in a manufacturing or similar environment. Holding a CIPS qualification or working towards it is advantageous.

In this role, you will be responsible for an annual spend of around £65m including raw materials, packaging, finished products, and £5m indirect spend. You will ensure raw materials and packaging purchase orders meet manufacturing and customer timelines.

The Purchasing Coordinator Role:
  • The department is responsible for £65m annual spend on raw materials, packaging, and finished products, plus £5m indirect spend.
  • Daily management of raw material and packaging purchase orders.
  • Analysis of MRP information.
  • Updating purchasing and supplier information records.
  • Analysis of vendor performance.
  • Communicating with all relevant colleagues.
  • Ensuring product quality and lead times.
The Successful Candidate:
  • Experience in buying/purchasing in a manufacturing/technical setting.
  • Strong administrative skills, particularly using Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Ideally CIPS qualified or working towards it.
