Job description

SF Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Purchase Ledger Clerk to join a business based in Newark on a full time temporary basis, until October 2025 with a view to permanent employment after. You will benefit from an attractive salary and package and will be part of a business who are offering an exciting and evolving opportunity where onsite parking is available at great offices.

Salary: up to 28,000pa

Our client is looking for an experienced Purchase Ledger candidate to join the busy finance department to carry out the following tasks:

Purchase ledger postings - purchase invoices; purchase ledger payments
Nominal ledger postings and payments including intercompany transactions
Supplier statements reconciliation to purchase ledger
Working closely with other team members including other departments
Dealing with any invoice queries or discrepancies
General finance administration to support wider department
Inputting data and converting in to spreadsheets

You must be able to work to tight deadlines, have the ability to work under pressure and be methodical with your approach.

This opportunity would be most suited to a candidate keen for a step into a busy, fast paced accounts department within a great organisation. Essential skills include Strong MS Excel experience, excellent attention to detail, proven ability to work under pressure in a fast paced environment, strong communication skills, GCSE C and above including English and Maths (or equivalent), and most importantly proven accounts experience within a similar environment where you can illustrate working knowledge purchase ledger and finance administration.

The business is based in easy commutable distance from Mansfield, Southwell, Colwick, Newark and most other locations that sit across the north or east of Nottingham.
