Job summary

St. Mary Cray Primary Academy is recruiting a Pupil Support Lead on a fixed-term maternity contract. The role is 28.8 hours per week across 39 weeks per year, with a salary of £25,535–£26,917 (£37,262–£39,278 FTE).

The post involves safeguarding leadership, liaison with external partners, and pastoral support to staff and pupils. You will work with the senior leadership team to deliver safeguarding operationally and lead CAFs, supporting LAC pupils and attending multi-agency meetings.

Qualifications

• Commitment to safeguarding and wellbeing of children.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to lead by example and support colleagues.
• Experience in pastoral support is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Work with senior leaders to deliver safeguarding operationally across the school.
• Be a deputy designated Child Protection Officer.
• Have lead overview of CAFs within the school.
• Support Looked After Children (LAC) pupils across the school.
• Attend multi-agency meetings including Child Protection Conferences.
• Implement safeguarding systems to monitor and track concerns.
• Provide pastoral support to staff and address needs of children to overcome barriers to learning.
• Work with individuals and groups of children and families on behaviour, learning and SEMH.
