Job summary

The City of Edinburgh Council is seeking a Pupil Support Assistant for St John's RC Primary School on a fixed-term basis until 29 June 2027. The role involves supporting pupils with additional needs to access education and meet care and wellbeing needs within a collaborative school team.

You will provide day-to-day support, personal care, help with learning activities, and assist in maintaining health, safety and welfare of pupils. PVG checks and pre-employment clearances apply.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils with additional support needs in daily activities.
• Provide personal care and encourage independence.
• Administer medication and complete related paperwork.
• Support transitions and group activities within the school.
• Assist with reading interventions and learning activities.
• Contribute to pupil learning profiles and meetings.
