Job summary

East Dunbartonshire Council in Scotland is offering a temporary term-time Pupil Support Assistant role in its schools. The post is prorated for hours worked and for term-time, up to 30 June 2027, with continuation dependent on funding.

You will support pupils with additional needs, assist with personal care, supervise in playgrounds and on trips, and help deliver school-based support programmes under the direction of teachers.

Qualifications

• Experience of working with children and young people with additional support needs is essential.
• Experience in a school setting and ability to contribute to support programmes.
• Ability to establish positive relationships with children and young people.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils individually or in small groups as directed by the class teacher.
• Assist with pupils' personal care needs as required.
• Provide supervision for pupils in the playground, corridors, dining area, PE or on trips.
• Contribute to support programmes within the school setting, as recommended by other professionals.
• Help ensure a safe and secure environment for pupils.
