Job summary

Teach South Kent in Worthing is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school on a full-time basis. You will provide one-to-one and small-group support to pupils who may be disengaged from learning, helping them build confidence and reach their potential.

The role involves working with teachers and pastoral staff to create consistent, supportive approaches, encouraging positive behaviour and independent learning, and adapting to the needs of different pupils.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children or young people preferred.
• Experience in SEN or pastoral roles is beneficial.
• Willingness to adapt to individual pupil needs.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one and small-group support to pupils who are struggling to engage with education.
• Build positive, trusting relationships with students and act as a consistent source of encouragement.
• Support pupils to overcome barriers to learning and improve their engagement in school.
• Encourage positive behaviour, confidence and independence.
• Help students develop their social, emotional and educational skills.
• Work alongside teachers and pastoral staff to provide a consistent approach to supporting individual pupils.
