Job summary

Red Acorn Recruitment is assisting a busy Huddersfield engineering company to recruit a Workshop Service Engineer. The role focuses on service and repair of centrifugal pumps in a workshop setting, with occasional site work.

You will strip, clean, identify repairs, and perform tests and repairs on equipment, plus general bench fitting, drilling and tapping. Reading engineering drawings is essential for this position.

Qualifications

• Proven background as a Service Engineer or Mechanical Fitter.
• Strong technical understanding of centrifugal pumps or similar rotating equipment.
• Experience in reading engineering drawings.

Responsibilities

• Strip, clean, and identify repairs on customer pumps.
• Carry out necessary repairs and tests on the equipment.
• Perform general workshop duties such as drilling, tapping, and basic bench fitting.
• Occasional site work as required.
