Job summary

Red Acorn Recruitment is assisting a busy Huddersfield engineering company to recruit a Workshop Service Engineer. The role focuses on service and repair of centrifugal pumps in a workshop setting, with occasional site work.

You will strip, clean, identify repairs, and perform tests and repairs on equipment, plus general bench fitting, drilling and tapping. Reading engineering drawings is essential for this position.

Qualifications

• Proven background as a Service Engineer or Mechanical Fitter.
• Strong technical understanding of centrifugal pumps or similar rotating equipment.
• Experience in reading engineering drawings.

Responsibilities

Job Description

A Mechanical Fitter / Service Engineer is required for a busy engineering company based in the Huddersfield area. As a Service Engineer, your main function will be to strip, clean and identify repairs on a range of customer pumps. You will then carry out necessary repairs and tests on the equipment. There will be further general workshop duties including drilling, tapping, and basic bench fitting. Whilst this role is predominantly workshop based, occasional site work might also be required.
