Job summary

Rubix Group's Deritend division is seeking a multi-skilled Technician to install, commission, maintain and repair industrial pumps, motors, gearboxes and hydraulic equipment across customer sites and workshops in the UK.

You will analyse job cards, interpret engineering drawings, fault-find using test equipment, and ensure work meets ISO quality standards while maintaining safety and customer satisfaction on every job.

Qualifications

• Proven engineering/technical background in industrial maintenance.
• Able to interpret engineering drawings and manuals.
• Experience using hand tools, machinery, and test equipment.
• Strong problem-solving and fault-finding skills.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills on site and with customers.
• Flexible to work in workshop and at customer sites.

Responsibilities

• Analyse job cards and work instructions to determine scope and requirements.
• Inspect, test, assemble and commission industrial equipment to meet specifications.
• Carry out fault diagnosis, repair and preventive maintenance safely and efficiently.
• Record detailed job notes, parts used and time spent for accurate documentation.
• Use precision measuring tools such as Vernier calipers and micrometers.
• Operate workshop and site equipment following training and procedures.
• Liaise with customers and colleagues to provide updates and technical support.
• Ensure all work meets quality standards and is delivered on time.
• Promote health, safety and quality across all tasks.
• Strip down and reassemble pumps and related equipment to OEM specs.
• Perform shaft alignment, balancing and performance testing.
• Occasional site-work for installation, laser alignment and commissioning.
