Job summary

Methods is seeking an experienced User Researcher to join our growing team on a permanent basis. You will champion the user, conduct research on public sector projects to a high ethical standard, and work with the product team to turn findings into prototypes and features.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, apply GDS standards, and contribute to user-centered design across digital services in the government and broader portfolio.

Qualifications

• Knowledge, experience and passion for user centered design practices
• Experience undertaking user research using methods such as usability testing, interviews, surveys
• Experience in agile multidisciplinary teams with designers and developers
• Confidence developing user needs, personas, user journey maps and other artefacts
• Experience applying ethical research practices and consent processes
• Experience gathering evidence to support decision making and formulating research questions and assumptions
• Confidence championing user-centered design for digital products and services
• Experience managing stakeholders and collaborating with project teams

Responsibilities

• Planning and conducting user research, developing recruitment briefs, analysing data and presenting findings
• Collaborating with the product team to turn research into prototypes and features
• Presenting insights and recommendations to product teams and stakeholders
• Promoting user-centered design and best practice within government
• Undertaking qualitative and quantitative research projects such as ethnography and usability studies
