Job summary

Doncaster and Bassetlaw Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Category Manager to lead procurement across categories, managing tenders from specification through to contract award. You will draw on market analysis and collaborate with clinicians and managers to deliver cost savings and improved patient care.

The role requires proven public sector procurement expertise, leadership experience, and progress toward MCIPS.

Qualifications

• Proven procurement or category management experience in a large organisation.
• Leadership and managerial experience.
• Experience leading high-value procurements from conception to implementation.
• Willingness to progress towards MCIPS.

Responsibilities

• Project manage tenders from specification to contract award with timely responses.
• Engage stakeholders across clinicians and managers throughout the process.
• Conduct market analysis to support contract award decisions.
• Deliver procurements that improve patient care and deliver cost savings using Atamis.
• Lead the category team day to day and report on progress.
• Ensure compliance with procurement legislation and Trust policies, including mandatory training.
• Support the Deputy Head of Procurement in delivering the Cost Improvement Plan.
