Job summary

University Hospitals of Derby and Burton NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Procurement Senior Category Manager to lead non-clinical category management and drive the delivery of the procurement work plan across Clinical Management Groups and Corporate Directorates.

The post holder will oversee a portfolio of sourcing projects, develop strategic sourcing programmes, and deputise for the Deputy Director of Procurement as required.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience of procurement category management within the NHS or a large complex organisation.
• Extensive experience leading on complex / high value tenders from scoping to award.
• Experience interpreting NHS standard contracts and national tariff guidance.
• Experience deputising for senior managers and representing the Trust at internal/external forums.

Responsibilities

• Plan, develop and implement sourcing strategies for designated non-pay categories.
• Influence demand and specification with input from supply market insights.
• Engage senior stakeholders to gain buy-in for category strategies.
• Establish commercial arrangements delivering best quality and total cost of ownership.
