Manchester City Council's Bereavement Services are seeking an experienced operational manager to lead the Infrastructure Team and shape the future of burial and cremation services, grounds maintenance, and related infrastructure.

You will oversee diverse operations across multiple sites, manage budgets, resources, vehicles, and contracts, and ensure compliance with health and safety standards while engaging with funeral directors, faith groups, and communities.

Formación

• Experience managing frontline operational teams in public sector preferred.
• Strong knowledge of health and safety management and safe systems of work.
• Experience coordinating services across multiple sites and contracts.

Responsabilidades

• Lead and inspire an operational workforce within Bereavement Services.
• Deliver burial, cremation, and grounds maintenance across sites.
• Manage budgets, resources, vehicles, machinery and contracts.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety legislation and industry best practice.
• Engage with funeral directors, faith groups, councillors, contractors and communities.
• Drive service improvements and infrastructure investment projects.
