Job summary

Grant Thornton’s Public Sector FRAS team is expanding, seeking a Manager to lead non-audit engagements for NHS Trusts, Local Authorities and public bodies. You will support financial reporting challenges, provide accounting guidance, and oversee project delivery with a focus on quality and stakeholder collaboration.

You’ll operate within a hybrid working model with development programmes, enabling growth in service delivery and client value while balancing work and personal commitments.

Qualifications

• Professional accounting qualification and post-qualification experience in public sector or local government/health finance.
• Strong grasp of IFRS accounting standards and their application in the public sector.
• Experience in leading projects and client relationships; ability to coach junior colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Deliver non-audit engagements across FRAS services with high quality standards.
• Solve complex technical accounting and financial reporting issues for clients.
• Lead, develop and supervise team members and project finances/budgets.
• Support business development and propose new service offerings.
• Build strong relationships with clients and internal teams.
