Job summary

Grant Thornton UK is seeking an Audit Assistant Manager within Public Sector Audit to help lead external audits for local government and NHS clients. You will manage a large portfolio, ensure UK GAAP/FRS102 compliance, and guide junior staff across multiple locations.

The role offers hybrid working, development opportunities, and exposure to specialist teams such as grants assurance and value for money. You will build strong client relationships and contribute to delivering high-quality audit

Qualifications

• Experience in public sector audits and managing client portfolios.
• Strong knowledge of UK GAAP / FRS102 and IFRS is beneficial.
• Ability to lead, develop and mentor junior team members.

Responsibilities

• Lead delivery of external audits for public sector clients in the UK.
• Manage client relationships and ensure high-quality outputs.
• Coordinate with specialist teams across locations to meet regulatory standards.
• Guide and develop audit staff throughout the engagement.
