Job summary

Grant Thornton UK LLP is seeking a Manager in Public Sector Accounting and Financial Reporting to lead non‑audit engagements and complex accounting challenges for NHS trusts and local authorities. You will help grow the FRAS service while delivering high-quality financial reporting support and governance insights.

You will guide junior colleagues, develop client relationships, and contribute to initiatives across the public sector assurance practice in a hybrid work environment that values

Qualifications

• Professional Accounting qualification (ACA/ICAS/CA/ACCA or CIPFA) as minimum.
• Post-qualification experience in providing professional services or Local Authorities/Health finance functions.
• Strong IFRS accounting standards knowledge for the public sector.
• Experience in leading and developing relationships; coaching junior colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Deliver non-audit engagements across public sector services with quality.
• Use problem solving to address complex client accounting issues and standards.
• Take on wider team responsibilities and pitch new projects.
• Contribute to business development and new service ideas.
• Oversee project delivery and supervise team members.
• Support project finances and budgeting oversight.
• Onboard clients and build strong client relationships.
• Continuously push for improvement with support from the firm.
