Job summary

SAS is seeking a Solution Engineer for its Public Sector team in the UK, focusing on Central Government, Defence and Policing. You will translate business needs into SAS-based solutions, lead technical engagements, and deliver high-impact demos and POCs for national-scale outcomes.

You will work hybrid with UK offices, traveling to client sites as required, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive successful engagements.

Qualifications

• UK Security Clearance, in place due to work across UK government.
• 3+ years of experience in a pre-sales role within the technology industry.
• Broad mix of technical knowledge and enterprise architecture with knowledge of architecture standards and cloud platforms.
• A passion for AI and its applications in data management, analytics, fraud detection and intelligence.
• Hands-on skills using SAS technology (SAS Viya Platform – incl SAS Studio, VA, VI) or similar.

Responsibilities

• Act as the primary technical contact between the client and SAS, translating client business needs to value-generating solutions based on SAS products (software and cloud) and services.
• Define and execute the technical strategy, leading the technical engagement plan and multi-discipline teams for opportunities.
• Handle complex customer situations using knowledge of industry standards and SAS solutions to deliver win-win outcomes.
• Deliver a high-quality, high-impact customer experience and demonstrate SAS value through presentations, demos and POCs.
• Use domain knowledge to influence stakeholders in meetings and tailor material to audience.
