Public Relations Account Director

Join Digital Waffle in matching top Marketing and PR candidates with leading clients across the UK. We are seeking a highly skilled PR Account Director to lead campaign ideation, client relationships, and execution excellence.

Salary: Up to £55K

Location: Oxford (hybrid)

Key Responsibilities

1. Strategic Leadership: Define the creative direction for digital PR campaigns, aligning with client goals and digital marketing strategies.
2. Client Management: Serve as a senior contact, nurturing strong relationships and confidently presenting ideas, reports, and results.
3. Creative Campaign Development: Lead brainstorming sessions, shape narratives, and innovate to produce impactful campaigns that secure top-tier media coverage.
4. Team Oversight & Mentorship: Manage and motivate a team of account managers, creatives, and strategists, supporting their professional growth.
5. Performance & Reporting: Ensure campaigns meet KPIs such as media coverage, backlinks, and engagement, with clear communication of results.
6. Trendspotting & Thought Leadership: Keep abreast of industry trends, media landscapes, and PR innovations, infusing fresh ideas into campaigns.

Requirements

• 5+ years in PR, including at least 2 years in a senior or leadership role
• Strong portfolio demonstrating successful creative PR campaigns with media coverage and backlinks
• Exceptional storytelling, ideation, and pitching skills
• Confidence in client communications, from strategy to performance updates
• Deep understanding of digital PR's role in SEO and brand visibility
• Experience managing and mentoring high-performing teams
• Collaborative, proactive, and passionate about digital-first strategies

Nice to Have

• Agency experience across various industries
• Data-driven PR experience using tools like BuzzSumo, Ahrefs, or GWI
• Experience integrating digital PR with content and SEO strategies
