Job summary

Public Health Scotland is recruiting a Public Health Intelligence Advisor to join the Public Health Sciences Service. You will use data and evidence to understand the health of the population and contribute to evaluation and policy reviews.

The immediate focus will be on the early years and young people, with scope to move across topics as the public health landscape changes. Hybrid working between Edinburgh and Glasgow offices.

Qualifications

• Strong technical public health intelligence skills.
• Sound knowledge of social determinants of health.
• Ability to work with complex data and evidence.
• Well-developed communication skills for non-specialists.
• Ability to influence and collaborate across organisations.

Responsibilities

• Use data and intelligence to understand population health and inequalities.
• Contribute to evaluation, monitoring and policy review activities.
• Support health intelligence work focused on early years and young people.
• Present complex information to diverse audiences.
