Job summary

Public Health Scotland invites applications for a Public Health Intelligence Advisor in the Public Health Sciences Service. You will use data and intelligence to understand health in Scotland and support evaluation, monitoring and policy review.

The immediate focus is on the early years and young people, with opportunities to work across organisations, contribute to reducing health inequalities, and develop data‑driven insights for policy and practice.

Qualifications

• You will bring strong technical public health intelligence skills and sound knowledge of the social determinants of health.
• You will be confident in working with complex data and evidence.
• You will have well-developed communication skills, with the ability to present complex information to a range of audiences, including non-specialists.
• Strong interpersonal and partnership working skills are essential, along with the ability to work collaboratively and influence across organisations.

Responsibilities

• Work within the Public Health Science Service to develop and improve data and intelligence on the health and wellbeing of children and young people.
• Focus on the early years and young people to support policy review, evaluation and monitoring.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to deliver robust public health insights.
