Job summary

Barnsley Council is recruiting a Public Health Intelligence Manager to lead the specialist Public Health Intelligence function within the Public Health Business Unit. You will guide data-informed decisions across JSNA, neighbourhood planning, prevention and commissioning while managing a small team.

The role requires substantial experience in public health intelligence or related analytics, with strong epidemiological and statistical skills.

Qualifications

• Substantial experience in public health intelligence or related analytical field.
• Ability to apply epidemiological, statistical and analytical methods to complex datasets.
• Ability to turn data into clear insights and recommendations for senior leaders.

Responsibilities

• Lead the specialist Public Health Intelligence function within the Public Health Business Unit.
• Manage a small team and collaborate with NHS, UKHSA, ICB and partners to align data use.
• Ensure intelligence informs JSNA, neighbourhood health planning, prevention, health inequalities and commissioning.
